A Better Standard of Sail
With over 30 years experience between us working at Cranfield Sails we have the knowledge to produce either coastal, cruising or blue water (deep sea) cruising sails for boats up to 40 feet long. We provide a personal service for yachtsmen, yacht designers and builders who value quality and integrity in the equipment they buy. We aim not to mass produce but to offer customised options for yachtsmen seeking a better standard of sails for their yachts.
Hi-Tech Approach
Each sail is individually tailored to fit your boat, designed by computer. The individual panels are each laser cut, to ensure there is no chafing on seams or edges and everything is hand finished.
Coastal cruising sails
Coastal cruising sails have two rows of three step seam stitching as standard and are finished with stainless steel lined plastic eyelets and plastic headboards. Fibreglass battens and a sailbag are standard. Boltrope luff is included in the basic price but alternative eyes and slides are available at an extra charge. Rows of reefs, sail insignias and sail numbers are available also at an extra charge. Headsails can be supplied either with a lufftape to suit roller furling units or either wire and hanks or rope and hanks. For furling headsails UV sunstrips and foam inserts behind the luff are optional at an additional charge.
Blue Water Sails
Blue water sails have two rows of three step seam stitching with an additional row of zig-zag stitching between these two rows. The eyelets fitted are stainless steel with the extreme load eyelets being supported by webbing stitched to the sail passing through the eyelet. Extra corner reinforcing with strainers is standard.
Storm Sails
Storm sails can also be provided in either white or Flo orange materials - these sails are built to withstand storm conditions, not just to meet the storm sail requirements.
Cruising Chutes and Spinnakers
Cruising chutes and spinnakers with or without snuffers are also available in up to three colours and come complete with launch bags.
Boom Covers and Dodgers
Boom covers of all types and dodgers are also available.
