Lonton and Gray- Second 2009 Squib InlandsBryan and Jenny Riley finish second overall at the 2009 Rutland Squib Inland Championships, a 5 race weekend in very variable conditions with forty four entries.

The forecast for day one was 20-22 knots, gusting upto 35 knots at times.  However, when all the competitors assembled at the start line a solid 30 knots was in place.  Racing was abandoned for day one with no one sorry to go in.  On day two the competitors saw Rutland water at its best, NW 8-10 knots with sun and a clear blue sky.

Many of the elite group of former National and Inland Champions who compete at the event regularly, struggled to maintain any form of consistency throughout the weekend, with many failing to score top fifteen places in the first three races.

However twice former National Champions Bryan and Jenny Riley sailing Brimstone sailed brilliantly getting the most out of their sails to score a fifth, tenth and a fourth, finishing an impressive second out of forty four entries after racing was scored without discards due to racing being cancelled on day one.
