Bespoke Squib Sail Making Service

Squib Genoa

LGSQJ4- In conjunction with White Marine Services we have designed a new headsail for the 2010 season.  This sail has a finer entry of the luff above the lower hank.

This makes the entry consistent from top to bottom and makes pointing much better in lighter conditions and a more controllable sail in heavier winds.  The draft in the foot has also being slightly increased which improves the power generated lower down.

Sails are made to a cross cut design using Contender Squib sailcloth- 5.52oz Polypreg.

Supplied with window, sail bag and hanks as required.

Squib Main

LGSQM3- This has become the standard Squib sail and has been designed to tailor in neatly with the new J4 jib.  It is suitable for all crew weights and wind conditions.  It is ideal for use in rough water conditions as the design means there is plenty of power to go through the chop.

Sails are made to a cross cut design using Contender Squib sailcloth- 5.52oz Polypreg.

Supplied with window, cunningham, boom bag, sail numbers, battens and sailbag.

Squib Spinnakers

Available in up to three colour combinations in silicone coated cloth

Cross Cut

This spinnaker has 8 horizontal panels and has proved to be very effective on windward/leeward course configurations.

This spinnaker is what's become the 'standard' Squib spinnaker.  It has 7 vertical panels and has proved to be very effective on championship triangle courses.

Both spinnakers are made from silicone coated cloth to allow the sail to be easily pulled around the forestay and under boom during dropping. Supplied with sail numbers and sailbag

Please note: that colours shown above are for illustration only and should not be treated as absolute.

The yellow is not fluorescent. Contact us for material samples if required.

Also available are the colours below, but are not silicone coated

50% deposit required with all orders, alternatively a 10% discount is offered if full payment is made with order.

Computer Designed and Laser Cut
Each sail is individually tailored to your boat, computer designed, laser cut and hand finished. Seams are sewn with two rows of three step stitching.  By hand finishing the sails we can achieve a high quality end product, with the laser cutting giving us repeatability with a panel cutting tolerance of less than 1/10th mm.  Battens, sail bags, and sail numbers are all included in the price as standard.

Everything you'd expect and that little bit extra
We pay particular attention to the detail and finishing of our sails. Should the worst come to the worst, we're able to quickly and efficiently repair your sails at our loft.  We can help you get the most out of your boat- ask us for specialist advice in setting up the rig and sails so you achieve the best!

Lonton and Gray design sails that are easy to set so that the crew can concentrate on the tactics.

Ian sails regularly in the Burnham squib fleet and is always on hand for that bit of extra customer service.

Engineered to suit you and your Squib
At Lonton and Gray, we realise that one sail doesn't 'fit all'.  Therefore if you would like a sail customising in anyway, please do contact us to discuss it further.  Please contact Ian to discuss your individual requirements before placing an order.

Included with your Squib Sails

Battens, sail bags, sail numbers and insignia are all included in the price.
